Farage isn't a serious politician. He's a contrarian rabble-rouser. Remember when he "won" the Brexit vote and then disappeared into the shadows to let the grown-ups deal with the fall out? He's good at causing controversy and getting headlines, but there are no real ideas behind his billowing.

That said, this is an important moment as the article says. But Labour need to start landing some of the big changes that is possible early in their parliament whilst they have a big majority, instead of upsetting everyone over marginal noise. They're going to get trashed in the right-skewed media either way - they might as well take their lashes whilst making a difference.

Only by making a difference will they stand a chance of re-election, or, perhaps a bit loftier: of making things better.
